Fabio de Almeida is a Portuguese saxophonist, improviser, and composer, born in Paris and raised in Vila Real, now based in the Netherlands. An artist with a distinctive voice on the tenor saxophone, his dark tone can whisper like a secret or erupt with explosive energy.
With a panoramic and exploratory approach shaped by a diverse musical background, he navigates the edges of contemporary jazz, fusing elements of jazz, urban music, contemporary classical composition, and sci-fi soundscapes.
Active across the international jazz scene, de Almeida has collaborated with Hugo Carvalhais, Emile Parisien, Liudas Mockūnas, Mário Costa, José Soares, Jamie Peet, Tijn Wybenga, and many others.
