Over time, Anton Goudsmit has unequivocally proven himself a master of variation and versatility, a true polymath. And although Ton Petit+ is once again a powerful testament to his artistic versatility, this project also reveals an entirely new facet of the guitarist. With keen and carefully thought-out compositions, the quintet —consisting Goudsmit on guitar, Sean Fasciani on bass, Tim Hennekes on drums, and supplemented by Mete Erker on saxophone and Joost Buis on trombone and lapsteel—brings a new level of musical expression.

The addition of Erker and Buis brings new inspiration to Goudsmit's compositions, with each musician leaving their own mark on the music without losing the distinctive sound of the original trio. As a result, the music of Ton Petit+ presents a more intuitive and richly textured sound palette, thanks in part to Buis' colorful lap steel and trombone and Erker's lyrical saxophone.
